Solution:

The area of interest that is consistent with my specialty track is reducing the number of maternal deaths in general, but more specifically in the minority populations. My MSN specialty track is Family Nursing Practice (FNP). The selected area of concern is consistent with the FNP track mainly because of the roles and responsibilities of FNP nurses which include overseeing the health and wellness of expectant women, from preconception to prenatal care and providing health and wellness care to newborns and children (Edmonson, McCarthy, Trent-Adams, McCain, & Marshall, 2017). The CDC (2019), estimates 700 maternal deaths in the U.S on an annual basis. The health of new mothers and infants is of high importance to FNP as it not only affects the patient outcomes but also the FNP outcomes at large.
