The completion of this course has been insightful to a considerable. This is particularly when it comes to understanding various aspects related to American History. Taking this into consideration, of the lessons that I have learned from the study of American history that impact my daily life is that of progressiveness. On this, in accordance with the assertion of 26th president of the United States, Theodore Roosevelt, I have learned that a progressive is a person who is committed to forward movement. To be precise, a progressive is a person who is motivated to ensure that all members of society are uplifted (Dalton, 2017). In my daily life, I purpose to become a progressive for the purpose of uplifting the society members in a wide range of aspects including providing holistic care to patients in the healthcare setting. By doing so, I can be in a position of promoting the quality of life of individuals.
Another lesson from this course that impacts my life is that of the Civil Rights Movement. From this point of view, as learned in this course, I have learned the manner in which the Civil Rights Movement in the United States changed the country. Specifically, in line with the assertion of Keene and O’Donnell (2012), the Civil Rights Movement played a fundamental role in addressing the aspect of racial discrimination among African Americans in the United States. This made it possible for them to have equal access to various social dimensions such as schools and public accommodations. Thusly, through this lesson, I have learned that there is a need to speak out any time I feel that my rights and freedoms are not respected.
This course has substantially affected my daily life to a considerable extent. Notably, by learning American History, I have been in a position of understanding the various achievements made by other people in history such as Martin Luther King, Abraham Lincoln,…Please click the icon below to purchase full answer at only $10
