How do you use informatics (not technology; not data entry into electronic health records) in your nursing practice? What ethical issues have arisen or might arise from use of informatics in professional nursing?

As defined by McGonigle and Mastrian (2015), nursing informatics is a field that combines nursing science, computer science, and information sciences for the maintenance and development of medical data and systems to support nursing practice and enhance patient care outcomes. Informatics is changing and advancing the face of healthcare. With technology advancement, healthcare organizations, as well as providers, have the ability to gather, analyze, and leverage data in a more effective manner, influencing the delivery of care, resource management, and team operation (Hood, 2018).
