Incivility entails when there are disrespectful, discourteous, or rude actions which may or may not be founded on negative intent (Abdollahzadeh, Asghari, Ebrahimi, Rahmani, & Vahidi, 2017). I have experienced incivility both at my personal level and workplace. At one instance, I was working at the emergency department when a relative to one of the senior nurses presented for a medical check-up. Having come late, she was required to pick a queuing ticket but this did not happen. The senior nurse in charge took the patient directly to the examination room while others watched. This resulted in complaints from other patients. In response, the senior nurse made some rude comments asking the patients to seek services from other hospitals if they thought she was not good enough or fair. I was there and as I watched helplessly, some patients vowed to sue the organization. The management in its response fired the worker and vowed to restore its reputation which was damaged by the scenario.
