Thinking of the many variables tracked by hospitals and doctors’ offices, confidence intervals could be created for many of them. What variable might be most helpful in your work to be able to create an interval that captures the true value of patients with 95% confidence? What would limit the ability to create such an interval?

According to Bennett, Briggs, and Triola (2018), confidence intervals refer to a range of values that are likely to contain the true value of the population mean.  In this view, confidence intervals are usually based on repeated sampling with larger sample sizes that lead to a normal distribution of samples.  According to Vavken, Heinrich, Koppelhuber, Rois, and Dorotka (2009), confidence intervals have been found to be fundamental when it comes to giving information regarding a population without the need of testing the entire population.  Taking this into consideration, with confidence intervals, time as well as resources is saved.
