When the assignment is placed in the dropbox, it will automatically be submitted to Turnitin. You may submit the assignment one additional time before the due date to lower the Turnitin score. If you choose to resubmit, the second submission will be considered final and subject to grading. Once the due date for the assignment passes, you may not resubmit to lower a Turnitin score.
This assignment will follow the late assignment policy specified in the course syllabus.
Students are expected to submit assignments by the time they are due. Assignments submitted after the due date and time will receive a deduction of 10% of the total points possible for that assignment for each day the assignment is late. Assignments will be accepted, with penalty as described, up to a maximum of three days late, after which point a zero will be recorded for the assignment.
In the event of a situation that prevents timely submission of an assignment, students may petition their instructor for a waiver of the late submission grade reduction. The instructor will review the student’s rationale for the request and make a determination based on the merits of the student’s appeal. Consideration of the student’s total course performance to date will be a contributing factor in the determination. Students should continue to attend class, actively participate, and complete other assignments while the appeal is pending.

APN Professional Development Plan Paper
Since the enactment of the 2010 Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, the demand for Advanced Nurse Practitioners (APNs) has continued to increase, aggravated by the increase in the aging population, nurse retirements, and nurse turnover rates (Jarrell, 2016). The increase in the complexity of patient health and social care needs demands for APNs to have fundamental competencies in clinical practice and leadership. APNs are required to complete the professional development (PDP) plan as part of their journey in career. The PDP are crucial to APNs as they push them into defining and getting a better understanding of who they are and their professional strengths, weaknesses, and improvement areas (Schober, 2016). More so, a PDP is a solid reference tool for nurses in the future which offers a visual roadmap for them to grow and develop professionally (Jarrell, 2016). Completion of PDP is a major demonstration of one’s commitment to a nursing career. The purpose of this PDP paper is to describe the APN scope of practice in my state (New Hampshire), Nurse Practitioner (NONPF) Core Competencies, and leadership skills.
APN Scope of Practice in New Hampshire State
After graduation, I would like to practice in my state of residency, New Hampshire state. Education in this state materializes at the graduate level. The educational requirements for APN in New Hampshire, as put forward by the NursingLicensure.org (n.d), have it that an APRN program ought to include at the minimum 228 hours and 480 hours of theory and clinical practices respectively in which the clinical practice must include pharmacology. More so, APRN must have at the minimum, a master’s level degree. In New Hampshire, all AONs who completed their education before 1st July 2004 do not need to obtain a graduate degree as their certificate can be accepted by the state’s licensing body.
Considering licensure, APRNs in New Hampshire state can be licensed based on their education and training in NP, nurse-midwife, or nurse anesthetist (NursingLicensure.org, n.d). The APRNs have two licenses as RNs whereby an RN may license in the state or another compact state. To achieve full licensure, APRNs in New Hampshire are mandated to obtain and maintain national certification via a national organization approved by the state policy.
