This week in your lesson, there was quite a bit of discussion about qualitative research. In thinking about your PICOT question for your MSN project, in your opinion and your experience with your area of interest, what value can qualitative research bring as you review the evidence to support your project?
Qualitative research related to human dimensions of environment is significantly growing in quantity. According to Lewin et al. (2015), qualitative evidence review plays a pivotal role in addressing concerns that relate to the complexity of a system or an intervention as well as the guideline development processes. The unique role of qualitative evidence is to establish the relative importance of the study outcomes, its acceptability, reach and fidelity of interventions, their feasibility in multiple settings, as well as their potential consequences particularly on equity across varied populations (Glesne, 2016).
