The success of SLMC is highly dependent on the communication and engagement of employees. As such, it is crucial to constantly empower all team members and enhance communication amongst them. One strategy I can apply as a nursing executive to enhance communication and team engagement is recognizing and rewarding the team members’ efforts. The team members always want to be recognized, valued and appreciated for their efforts as it instills in them a sense of engagement and commitment (Lyons et al., 2015). For example, asking the patients how their nurses are and passing positive feedbacks publicly during our team meetings. Showing care makes the members feel valued and loved.
