Current Event – Local Issue

For this assignment, I chose to work on an article published by Chalkbeat. It is titled “Turning up the pressure for integration, NYC students plan citywide school boycott”. The said article was written by Christina Veiga on 5th February, 2020. It explores New York student’s preparation for a boycott citing what they call segregation in the education system. The author of the article is a reporter for Chalkbeat and reports on educational matters arising in New York. Prior to this, she was a reporter for Miami Herald where she also covered news in and around K-12 education. Chalkbeat majors in reporting on education issues across local American communities. It aims at informing better practices and policies for better educational outcomes. Herein, I provide a summary of the article, assess how the issue of segregation in New York schools affects me, neutrality of the article, and how I can influence the policy in the future.

These protests will be organized and led by Teens Take Charge and…..Please click the icon below to purchase full answer at only $10
